Meet Jenn FM – Adult Album Alternative for Women

Jenn FM is smart radio. Jenn FM is smart in that it meets the needs of the disenfranchised listener by providing distinctive programming in two key areas – music selection and spoken word.
Jenn FM has more music, more artists, more genres, more relevant spoken word and more female insights.
Conversely, Jenn FM has fewer repeats, less inane banter, fewer interruptions for commercial content, and a decidedly non-male perspective.
Jenn FM is contemporary radio for today’s women and today’s families. The spoken word will focus on subjects that are of interest to a large audience, including the music and artists themselves, family, health, lifestyle, fitness, beauty, fashion, home, aging, books, movies, travel, local entertainment, shopping - the very content of women’s magazines. Jenn FM will package this information into a broadcast format and communicate it to our audience between long sets of music.
Music on Jenn FM is drawn from the rock, alternative rock, pop, alternative country, world music, and folk music genres. At a minimum, 40% of our schedule will be comprised of Canadian artists and, of these, half (50%) will be new and emerging artists. This means that, for the first time in Canada, a service will dedicate 20% of its broadcast week to introducing new Canadian talent.
Jenn FM is a comprehensive source of news and information, with fixed weather and news updates that allow you to schedule when and how you will receive your information. The applicant for Jenn FM is new to the market, so the licensing of this service will result in a new voice, a new perspective on the market, and additional diversity in news reporting.
Jenn FM will underwrite the cost of developing Canadian content. In particular, this new service will fund local community based initiatives such as New Music West, and local educational venues like University of Alberta and Grant MacEwan College Schools of Music. Jenn FM will give money to FACTOR, a nationally administered program that underwrites the cost of producing music for new artists and AMEF, the Aboriginal Media Education Fund that invests in developing Canadian content production among First Nations people. Finally, Jenn FM will give money to fund the traveling expenses associated with emerging artists developing followings abroad. Investments will be made to Canada Blast that takes Canadian artists to international talent showcases, allowing them to reach audiences around the globe.
Jenn FM will also expand the opportunities for internet usage by providing much of the informational programming in a podcast and downloadable text form, in addition to simultaneous streaming of the broadcast signal. This will allow audiences of Jenn FM to schedule their tuning and access information on demand.
Information on all Jenn FM programming will made available on our website. So, if a listener wants to hear more about an artist, “on air” personality, a topic of discussion, or even an advertiser, our site will be fully loaded for them.
Jenn FM advertisers will have the chance to place their messaging in our market place where listeners can browse at their leisure. Listeners can sign up for category and product updates and advertising messaging will automatically be sent to these potential customers when campaigns are airing. This “self selection” by consumers protects our audience’s privacy while, at the same time, guaranteeing that potential customers have access to the information being shared by the advertiser.
